Head of School/Lower Elementary Teacher- Denise Marti
|
Denise came to the school in the spring of 2006 to
help with expansion. Realizing there is a need for
choices in education in our community and
knowing the benefits of Montessori education, she
continues to work to see the school and the
Montessori philosophy grow in Alamance County.
Ms. Denise has her Master's in Special Education
and her Lower Elementary Montessori certification.
Lead Montessori Teacher/Assistant Director - Shannon Tincher
|
Ms. Shannon has been with the school since 2006.
With over 5 years of experience in Childcare, she
pursued her Montessori degree and has flourished
in this role. The children love and respect her and
can’t wait for all the new material she shows them.
Ms. Shannon is very excited about what the future
holds for her, the children, and the school in the
years to come.

The Whole Child
Each Child is valued and nurtured as a whole being: Mind,
Body and Spirit. Children are allowed to develop in a safe,
supportive, culturally-diverse environment that gives them
the freedom to explore, cooperate, create, and become.
The Whole Family
Each family member is respected as part of the learning
environment. Parents, siblings and extended family are
included in the process of learning about Montessori
education and sharing talents and abilities of their own.
Montessori at Children’s House
We are committed to bringing families and children together
for a truly integrated learning approach. Our parents are
welcomed and encouraged to come and share their wealth of
knowledge to the community in their special fields of
interest. Parent volunteer time is a big part of the school
and allows for families to be more connected in our hectic
world.
Although we are not formally a Christian school, our school
does support Christian values through bible stories that
support our virtue of the month, sharing Christian music
and activities, and celebration of Christian Holidays.
We are committed to educating our community on the
benefits of Montessori education and look for opportunities
to share this information. We have spoken at Elon
University, Cummings High school and other venues to share
this vision.
We are committed to seeing options in education for
Alamance County. With the need for choices in our
community, we will continue to grow as is economically
feasible in order to best serve the community.
Our future is exciting with plans being made to build yet
another additional structure next to our current buildings.
This growth is expected in the next 2 years and will allow us
to offer 1st-6th grade as well as a total of three Primary
Classes and one Preparation classroom.
Children’s House Montessori strives to serve the whole child as part of the whole family. Guided by the work of Maria Montessori, we create an environment where children and families are inspired to realize their creative, personal and social potential.
